Istanbul Gelisim University Establishes Faculty of Sports Sciences

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) has officially established the Faculty of Sports Sciences, transforming its former School of Physical Education and Sports.

This development follows Presidential Decree No. 8785, dated August 1, 2024, signed by the President of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and published in the Official Gazette. The decree concerns the establishment, closure, and renaming of various faculties, institutes, and schools across higher education institutions in Turkey.

With the inauguration of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, the number of faculties at IGU has increased to seven, further enhancing the university’s commitment to academic excellence and institutional growth in the field of sports sciences.
