Students from the Department of Recreation at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Istanbul Gelişim University, have achieved a significant academic success under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students’ Research Projects Support Programme.

Four different student research projects prepared within our faculty were awarded funding by TÜBİTAK, marking a significant achievement for scientific output and the culture of research.

The projects awarded funding are as follows:

“An Investigation into the Effect of a Sports-Based Support Programme on the Psychological Well-being of Women Who Are Victims of Violence”

“The Effect of a Breathing Exercise-Based Psychological Preparation Programme on Self-Regulation, Concentration and Performance Levels in 14–16-Year-Old Tennis Players”

“The Effect of an 8-Week Desk-Based Exercise Programme on Neck and Shoulder Pain, Postural Awareness and Academic Motivation Among University Students”

“The Effect of Participation in Digital Recreation on Self-Regulation, Digital Health Literacy and Quality of Life Among Secondary School Students”

Dr Mahmut Ulukan, Assistant Professor, supervised the projects, whilst our students Sedef Sarı, Beren Ünal, Merve Karanfil and Esmagül Gülsun acted as researchers/project leaders.

Our faculty, which supports a culture of scientific research and encourages its students to undertake projects, continues to add to its academic achievements day by day.

We congratulate our academic staff and students who contributed to these projects and wish them continued success.
