The Istanbul Gelişim University Recreation Club organized a series of recreational activities at the Faculty of Sports Sciences from November 20–22, 2025, with the aim of increasing social interaction among students and supporting an active campus life. The three-day events, centered on the themes of games, sports, art, and entertainment, enabled students to spend their free time in a productive and enjoyable manner.
As part of the events, faculty students participated in activities that were both physically active and designed to support the development of social skills. In line with the fundamental philosophy of recreation, the goal was for participants to have a voluntary, fun, and stress-relieving experience.
Merve Karanfil, President of the Recreation Club, expressed her satisfaction with the high turnout for the events, stating:
“Our goal is to ensure that students have fun while also interacting with one another and strengthening their sense of belonging to the university. We will continue to add value to our faculty with more comprehensive events in the coming period.”
The club’s academic advisor, Assistant Professor Mahmut Ulukan, emphasized the importance of recreational activities for students’ psychosocial development and offered the following assessment:
“Recreation is not merely about physical activity; it is an important discipline that supports social relationships, creativity, mental health, and quality of life. We are very pleased that such events are held regularly at our university.”
The three-day event series concluded with positive feedback from students. The Recreation Club plans to continue similar activities throughout the year.
