On the 87th anniversary of his passing, we commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey and a great leader, with respect, love, gratitude and fond remembrance.
Atatürk did not view sport merely as a physical activity; he emphasised that sport is a fundamental element in the development of modern, disciplined, ethical and strong individuals. His words, “I love the athlete who is intelligent, agile and, at the same time, ethical”, continue to guide us in the field of Sports Sciences to this day.
As the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Istanbul Gelişim University;
in line with the goals set out by Atatürk, we continue to work with determination to nurture the sports professionals of the future, drawing on the unifying power of sport, scientific advancement and national values.
On this meaningful day, we commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, along with all his comrades-in-arms, our martyrs and veterans, with prayers, gratitude and respect.
